Is there a way to make it so users could have a private room? Only certain users would be able to join.

1. Users can not create their own rooms (not yet), public or password protected, etc.
2. Upcoming client 2.3 is planned to have groups support, which will allow room to be created and access allowed only for users belonging to a certain group(s) (Joomla group)

For now, two users can chat privately using "P" option in message form area. If they want to disable receiving public messages, they can change "All" to "Private only" in bottom right dropdown select box in message form area.
