I have today noticed that a message has been posted by Blastchat regarding $1/month subscription fees to use Blastchat.

Could you give us some indication of what it is we will be required to subscribe for and when this is likely to come into force.

Will you still offer a Free service of some kind and if so what limitations.

I am seriously concerned for this issue because myself, like probably 90% of your usership, use Blastchat because it is FREE.

The fact that you ran a vote recently asking how much most of your customers thought Blastchat was worth showed that a huge majority thought paying nothing for it was the better option. This is probably because as a FREE chat service it is the best on the market, but as a subscription service your product most people would rather go with one of the many paid solutions and pay for the much more in depth features offered.

I think if you bring in subscription charges to use Blastchat you are in very strong danger of losing a very large percentage of your current users. And if this has happens and you realise you have made a mistake to charge, it may be very hard to persuade them to come back to Blastchat again when they have been forced to seek out and incorporate other chat programs instead.


Anyway, I am interested in knowing what you have planned with regards this chat subscription?

Thanks for the reply. And thanks for checking. I am not completely against the subscription charge as such and even a $1 a month is a ridiculously small charge at that.
I am just concerned that I like other people may have to cross check whether I am paying for a service that isnt bettered elsewhere for a similar or slightly higher cost.

The fact it is free, and the best free chat service on the internet makes it so desirable, but the idea to make someone pay may just cause them to think "well as i am going to have to pay.... for just X amount more I could go with this other software programme that offers all this extra!"

I just thought I would mention it but obviously understand that FREE doesnt pay anything when you need to run something as succesful as this software is.

I am curious tho as to what you mean by my Chat Usage being Stable Usage? Is the charge in some way connected with activity (no chatters ever means no free chat) or in low user numbers (10 or less chatters means free - 10+ means charges per user numbers?)

Can I ask about the Maximum Chatters part of the subscription?

When it says 100 chatters in chat is FREE, does that mean 100 chatters per each room you set up, or 100 chatters in total across all of yours rooms (so 5 rooms would mean 20 chatters per room, 10 rooms means 10 chatters per room).

100 chatters for your subscription (no matter how many rooms you have, since we do not limit number of rooms)
