"BlastChat client 2.1" and "BlastChat client 2.1 module" has been released today.
Client has 4 languages fully translated, others will have some text in english. If your language translation is not available feel free to make your own (we will appreciate if you submit it to us so it can be added to distributed files). Many thanks to active translators.
Again, you are welcome to create your own module, there are some functions available for you inside client component itself, file module_blastchatc.php, simply call it from your module).
Please, read terms of service agreement upon installation (I see many server admins not following them).
MOS-Chat client 1.0 is still supported but release of 2.1 version makes client 1.0 discontinuation almost a reality.
Fixes and installation instructions follows...
Client installation procedure: - new installation
1. Simply use Joomla.Mambo admin backend component installation as you would do for any other component 2. Register your server with BlastChat service 3. Check configuration and adjust as needed 4. Create menu link to new component
- update
1. Remove current installation 2. Iinstall new 2.1 client 3. Check registration (this will update one security feature) 4. Check configuration and save it (this should show information that database is at current version 2.1) or 1. Upload and overwrite files manually in components and administrator/components 2. Go to admin backend and click on BlastChat Configuration 3. Click update database button (After that configuration form should show that database is at current version 2.1) 4. Adjust and save configuration 5. Check registration information
Fixes: - fixed tables (fixed installation failures due incorrect sql syntax for some MySQL versions) - fixed configuration saving procedure - if users logs out from your site, user will not show as chatting in module - changed module printout to support Joomla 1.0.10 (if you run older Joomla release, you need to do following:
1. In your Joomla language file, replace these definitions: DEFINE('_GUEST_COUNT','%s guest'); DEFINE('_GUESTS_COUNT','%s guests'); DEFINE('_MEMBER_COUNT','%s member'); DEFINE('_MEMBERS_COUNT','%s members');
2. make backup of your old mod_whoisonline.php before, if you use this module) 3. Get mod_whoisonline.php from Joomla 1.0.10 and overwrite one you are using now Add-ons: - added new options to module - added link to CommunityBuilder profile
Tested using FireFox 1.0.7, IE 6.x, IE 7 beta, Opera 8.x, Opera 9.x, Mozilla 1.7.12, Netscape 8.1. If you experience visual problems using these browsers it is most probably caused by your template CSS definitions. |
