BlastChat server hosting company will be conducting a network maintenance window next week to provide additional protection and redundancy for the Data Center.
Date & Time (PDT): Wednesday, Nov 26 2008, 11:59 pm – Thursday, Nov 27 2008, 03:00 am
Effect on network continuity: Some customers will experience brief periods of latency and intermittent loss of connectivity as STP (spanning tree protocol) convergence is completed.
On Wednesday, Nov 26th, the Network Service Team will make changes to the spanning tree topology in our data center. This will improve redundancy and provide additional protection to our distribution equipment in case of a failure. The maintenance will begin promptly at midnight and is expected to take approximately 3 hours. Service impact should be minimal, though customers may notice brief periods of latency and intermittent loss of connectivity during this short window as STP recalculations are completed. Senior Networking Team members will be onsite managing this event.
