Most work place firewalls do have port 80 open, and most work place firewalls do not individually block certain domains, but that may not be your case.

Most proxies should be able to handle session for you correctly, but I can not vouch for that.

If your proxy is IP proxy bank (meaning that each http request comes to web server from different IP for same user) that can be a problem to maintain session properly.

Find out what is the difference between your work PC and your home PC, or we wont be able to move forward with this I wish I could reproduce this problem, but my home PC, my work PC, my brother's PC, my cousin's PC, my friends PC, my testers PCs and X thousand other PCs do work without problems.

I really wish I could give you a better answer, or even propose definitive solution, but I can not as I do not know what the problem is at this time

Questions:
1. From your work PC, if you log in to blastchat site and you do NOT check "remember me" checkbox, are you logged in continuously? (or do you get logged out right away on 2nd click on site after login?)
2. What are browser versions that users have problem with?<br><br>Post edited by: Prutkar, at: 2006/07/05 09:47

javascript enabled on this pc, also on the other machines that have the problem (from my other users) also the cookies are everywhere enabled.

firewall/proxy: firewalls no world without it every pc needs it, it's not verry good to here that firewalls can't get trough... if this is correct a bunch of users are having trouble.

browser config problem: i do not think so, security is set to medium and even on the lowest it has the same issues and yes cookies are enabled

i guess much more users are experiencing this problem

spacepage wrote:
&quot;failed to initalize session&quot; when an admin of a site goes to the chatThis error happens when your browser is unable to hold session that joomla creates. I am not sure how to fix this for you. You wrote everything works fine from home, which means your browser at work has either cookies disabled, javascripts disabled or is behind firewall/proxy or even worst behind IP proxy bank, wich prevents to create correct session

in IE an error: &quot;acces denied&quot;
www.blastchat.com/index2.php?option=com_...ick=&amp;errmsg=

This is definately browser configuration problem, try following:
1. in IE menu Tools, Internet option, tab Privacy
2. Setprivacy Medium or Low (and report to me what was it set as before you did this) OR add blastchat.com as Allowed Site under &quot;Sites...&quot;
3. Tab Privacy, button &quot;Advanced...&quot;, do you have cookies enabled?

is this fixed in version 2.1 or?I really do not think there is anything to fix
at home i do not have any problems, only at my workThis confirms my point, that there is nothing I can fix for this, at least I can not think of anything

other users are complaining about it to I wish I could help, but you'll have to debug more, possibly try different browser from work

is this fixed in version 2.1 or?
